Which type of lifter do I need?

What's the difference between a lifting key, a handle and a hook?
A lifting key drops into a keyway; a handle engages the cover for an upright lift; a manhole hook is a bar that pulls through pick holes. Keys and handles give more control on keyway covers; hooks are quickest where there’s an open pick hole.
How do you lift a solid cover with no keyhole?
Use a magnetic lifter. Its magnets clamp onto a solid ductile-iron top that has no keyway, giving a firm hold to break the seal and slide the cover clear — useful for sealed or boltless covers where a key has nothing to engage.
How do you lift heavy D400 covers safely?
